Apply to become an IRIS Academy Scholar

Cohorts of up to fifteen scholars will begin in August of each year.

The IRIS Academy values a broad range of perspectives and experiences that contribute to a richer learning environment, and we encourage students with a passion for sexual and reproductive health research to apply, including those on non-traditional career paths or returning to education after a break and individuals with disabilities. Our aim is to create a research community that engages with the community to promote sexual and reproductive health and wellness. Scholars must have an anticipated graduation after the end date of the cohort they are applying for, and sufficient time to engage with this training in addition to their other academic and personal responsibilities.

We welcome applications from

  • Master’s, Doctoral, and Post-doctoral trainees (including interns, residents, and fellows) who are committed to advancing sexual and reproductive health research.

  • A variety of disciplines, including but not limited to nursing, pharmacy, allied health, psychology, medicine, public health, medical sociology, social work and counseling. If your field is not listed but aligns with our mission and you are passionate about advancing sexual and reproductive health, we encourage you to apply.

  • Students/trainees in programs at colleges/universities in Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.

Applicants who are not invited to join a cohort may apply again the following year.
